As one of the world's most disaster-prone countries, Indonesia has become a global leader in disaster risk finance since adopting its national strategy in 2018. This case study, part of the Adaptation and Resilience Solutions in Action series, looks at two flagship instruments: the Pooling Fund Bencana (PFB), a national fund for disaster preparedness and response, and the State Assets Insurance Program (ABMN), which now insures more than 10,000 government buildings. With support from GSFF, the Risk Finance Umbrella (RFU), and other partners, Indonesia's experience shows the importance of political leadership, long-term financing, and strong institutional coordination.

This case study is part of the "Adaptation and Resilience Solutions in Action" series which showcases how countries and partners are addressing climate risks and building resilience through innovative policies, programs, and financing solutions.
